Rev. Dr. Aaron L. Parker Delivers Rousing Keynote Address Encouraging Unity in Recycling Black Dollars and Descendants of Harriett Tubman Endorse the OvergroundRR!!®
The evening began with a networking reception followed by a processional led by descendants of Harriet Tubman and local clergy. Keynote speaker Rev. Dr. Aaron L. Parker of Zion Hill Baptist Church delivered a rousing message based on the theme “inspired by the Past, prepared for the Present and excited about the Future”. His gospel-filled message of recycling the Black dollar for economic freedom in the Black community resonated so clearly that Master of Ceremony Derrick Boazman (1380 WAOK radio) wanted to immediately spend his dollars with a Black business before the ceremony ended. The great grand-niece of Harriet Tubman, Geraldine Copes-Daniels sung a rendition of “Go Down Moses”, and James Bignon and the Deliverance Mass Choir provided inspirational, “foot-stomping” music.
